The Mayan ruins in Playa del Carmen are small 1-story or 2-story buildings
usually separated by only a few thousand yards and served as coastal observation
posts for defense and tracking of unknown ocean travelers.
There are 2 sites in town, 3 sites in Playacar Phase I, and about 100 sites
in Playacar Phase 2.
